The Flow Cytometry Facility
The facility provides a centralized flow cytometry and cell sorting service to researchers and collaborators at the Max Planck Institute for Heart and Lung Research. It covers a wide range of applications that include mouse satellite cells, lung endothelial cells, cardiomyocytes, and diverse samples for gene expression, cell cycle and multi-colour phenotyping.
The BioSorter is a large particle sorter equipped with all options for isolating a range of different sized entities e.g. mouse pancreatic islets, adipocytes, myofibers and zebrafish.
This state-of-the-art cell sorter has 4-lasers and 11 fluorescence emission channels.
JSAN Cell sorter
These instruments contain a 488nm-laser with 4 fluorescence emission channels.
The DEPArray uses a six-channel fluorescent microscope and CCD camera to capture images and identify cells. Dielectrophoresis (DEP) is used to capture individual cells in “DEP cages” that are then moved into the holding chamber for isolation and recovery.
This magnetic bead based sorter is used for the pre-enrichment of rare populations.
