The Max Planck Institute for Heart and Lung Research (Bad Nauheim, Germany) invites qualified applications to apply for a Postdoctoral Researcher Position in Biomolecular Mass Spectrometry (f/m/d), Reference number:2025_15
The Mass Spectrometry/Proteomics Group currently operates three QExactive mass spectrometers equipped with nano-UHPLC systems (EASY-nLC 1200). Applicants should have practical experience in sample preparation from cells, tissues and liquid biopsies for proteomic analysis. In particular, the qualified candidate should have experience in protein isolation, digestion and fractionation using high pH chromatography, as well as in the operation and maintenance of mass spectrometry instruments (ideally Thermo). In addition, the candidate should have extensive knowledge of DDA and DIA proteomic data processing using MaxQuant or similar software packages.
Your responsibilities
The successful candidate will focus on developing methods for highly sensitive analysis of posttranslational modifications in limited amounts of material. In addition, they will participate in the daily operation of Orbitrap mass spectrometers and actively contribute to the development and adaptation of new protocols and techniques including quality control, troubleshooting and routine upkeep.
Your qualifications
The qualified candidate must have a PhD and will become a member of the Mass Spectrometry/Proteomics Group, where they will conduct research on projects supported by the Max Planck Society, the German Center for Cardiovascular Research (DZHK) and the Cardiopulmonary Institute (CPI).
