Services for MPI staff

Access authorizations
After registration with IT you will receive a user account. A user account will enable you to access all internal IT resources, internet, printers, and both file and e-mail services.
Upon termination of your account (e.g. leaving the institute), your account will persist for additional 2 months before it will be permanently deactivated. However if necessary, prolongation of your account can be obtained with a formless application. Keep in mind that obtaining access to our IT infrastructure and services involves complying with the IT user rules.

Guest network
The guest network provides internet access for visitors as well as access to IT resources for personal devices of the employees from the institute. Print services are also available within the guest network. Laptops can connect wired or wireless. Obtaining access to the guest network requires complying with the guest network user rules.

Institute Network
The Max-Planck-Institute for Heart and Lung Research consists of 3 buildings which are interconnected by a proprietary 10Gbit fiber-wired network. The network is connected to the Deutsches Forschungsnetz (DFN). Client resources share a 1-Gbit connection with the network. We provide Microsoft, Mac OS and linux clients.

Outlook web access and email
