Board of Directors
The Max Planck Institute for Heart and Lung Research is run by the three directors Thomas Braun, Stefan Offermanns and Didier Stainier. They are mutually responsible for the scientific and administrative managment of the institute. The Managing Director is determined for a certain period of time. From 1st July 2023 until 30th June 2026 the Managing Director is Prof. Dr. Didier Stainier.
The Board of Directors is supported by the Head of Administration, Dr. Matthias Heil, in order to fulfill the duties of the statutes. The following organization chart illustrates the current structure of the Max Planck Institute:
