The Max Planck Institute for Heart and Lung Research offers flexible working hours and assistance in finding childcare. In certain circumstances, childcare supplements are also available.

Christiane Nüsslein-Volhard-Stiftung

Since the double burden of work and family makes it particularly difficult for women to have a successful career, the Christiane Nüsslein-Volhard Foundation supports young female scientists with children. The stipend enables them to ‘buy time’. The stipend recipients can, e.g. hire a home help or finance additional childcare while attending a conference. It is assumed that regular all-day childcare is guaranteed and funded. Female doctoral candidates and postdocs of all nationalities can apply.
