My motivation for science began with the question of how organisms have adapted to the earth's environment. Using medaka as a model organism, I have focused on bone-dissolving cells called osteoclasts to study bone development and regeneration, and also participated in projects using the International Space Station to study the effects of gravity.
From July 2021, as a visiting scientist at the Stainier Lab, I am studying the origin of the circulatory system using medaka.
