Dr. Maëlle Bellec

Postdoc Stainier

My main motivation in science is to aim at understanding how life works, starting by investigating the laws of nature. I started my high school studies in ecology and discovered molecular biology and genetics, by chance, at a lecture on transposable elements in Grenoble. Since then, I have never dropped molecular genetics. I did my Phd in M. Lagha’s laboratory in Montpellier, studying gene regulation in a temporal and spatial aspect, during Drosophila embryogenesis, and using sophisticated techniques. I am now investigating the mechanisms of transcriptional adaptation at the subcellular level using high-resolution imaging and live imaging approaches.
