Dr. Pooja Sagvekar

    • I completed my Ph.D. from the National Institute for Research in Reproductive and Child Health (ICMR, India), with specialization in the epigenetic regulation of polycystic ovary syndrome, a reproductive endocrinopathy with severe cardiovascular risk components.  With an interest to dissect the cellular and molecular mediators of cardioprotective mechanisms, I began my postoctoral research at the Stainier lab in 2021.  My current research is focused on understanding the endo-myocardial crosstalk and identification of injury-induced, endocardium-derived factors that facilitate cardiomyocyte renewal and cardiac regeneration outcomes.
