The Max Planck Institute for Heart and Lung Research (Bad Nauheim, Germany) invites applications for a Biomolecular Mass Spectrometry Scientist (m/f/d) Ref. Nr.: 2021_09.

The position

The successful applicant holds a PhD or an equivalent degree and will become a team member of the Mass Spectrometry/Proteomics group, conducting projects supported by the German Center for Cardiovascular Research (DZHK). 

The Mass Spectrometry/Proteomics group currently uses an QExactive and two QExactive HF, equipped with nano-UHPLC systems. Applicants should have hands-on experience in modern mass spectrometry (LC-ESI-MS/MS; QExactive), liquid chromatography (ideally “EASY-nLC 1200” system), reductive demethylation, TMT labeling and label-free based protein quantification techniques, PTM analysis (phosphorylation, ubiquitinylation, methylation, acetylation etc.), as well as appropriate knowledge in bioinformatics (e.g. MaxQuant) to analyze proteomic data sets.

The successful applicant will advance ongoing projects, is expected to provide counsel for the design of proteomics/mass spectrometry experiments, write project reports, and train young scientists in proteomic techniques.
