The Max Planck Institute for Heart and Lung Research in Bad Nauheim, near Frankfurt (Germany) has openings for a Postdoctoral Research Position and a PhD Position Ref. Nr. 2021_07.
We seek enthusiastic, highly motivated bioinformaticians to join an international research program co-supervised by Dr. Lei Gu from Max Planck Institute for Heart and Lung Research and Dr. Bin Zheng from Harvard Medical School. This program combines wet and dry to investigate both basic and translational questions on mechanisms of metabolic signaling in cancer (Nature Genetics 2015, Nature Medicine 2016, Cell Reports 2017, Nature Communications (revised)), we are particularly interested in the interplay between 3D genome organization and metabolism in cancer.
Essential requirements for postdoctoral / PhD position applicants should have a Master or PhD in a relevant subject with the appropriate experience and track record. The ideal candidates are expected to be curiosity driven, open minded, collaborative, and have solid theoretical and practical experience in bioinformatics (multi-omics data integration and single cell applications) and cancer epigenetics as demonstrated by a strong publication record. We offer a stimulating international research environment with access to a variety of leading edge technologies in both Max Planck Institute and Harvard Medical School.
