Dept. I: Cardiac Development and Remodelling

Ph.D. Student/Post-Doc/Junior Research Scientist

The Max-Planck-Institute for Heart and Lung Research located in Bad Nauheim nearby Frankfurt is inviting applications for Postdocs and PhD Students in the field of Developmental Cardiology.
We seek enthusiastic, highly motivated Postdocs and PhD Students, who will join our research group working on novel strategies to identify and functionally characterize genes that control cardiac and alveolar development, remodeling and regeneration. Techniques include adenoviral and lentiviral gene transfer, siRNA libraries, mouse embryonic and organ-specific stem cells, molecular biology, biochemistry, mouse genetics and microscopy. The working atmosphere is international. The successful candidates will use already established mouse strains for cell lineage tracing and functional analysis of signaling pathways during lung development.
Skills in molecular biology and cell biology are required, and knowledge of mouse physiology and experience with transgenic mice is highly appreciated.
The positions will be available immediately. Applicants should send a statement of interest, a full CV and the name and address of three references by mail to the address below or by email to Ingrid Radermacher.
The Max Planck Society wishes to increase the share of women in areas in which they are underrepresented. Women are strongly invited to apply.
The Max Planck Society is committed to employing more handicapped individuals and especially encourages them to apply.
