The Max Planck Institute for Heart and Lung Research, W.G. Kerckhoff Institute established the "International Max Planck Research School for Heart and Lung Research" (IMPRS-HLR) in 2008, in cooperation with the Justus Liebig University in Giessen and the Goethe University in Frankfurt.

The IMPRS-HLR offers excellent students a research-orientated, interdisciplinary PhD course of studies in the field of heart and lung research at the highest international level.
