Guided Tours and Presentations

The Max Planck Institute for Heart and Lung Research offers a program of educational activities for schools under the MaxLAB title.

Laboratory Tours

Our guided tours give school classes and biology study groups an insight into the work of a laboratory. The goal is to present current scientific practices and promote contact with scientists. Laboratory tours can also help students choose their career path. The duration and scope of the tour can be tailored to each group.

Work Placements

We offer high-school students the opportunity to undertake a work placement at the Max Planck Institute (usually two weeks). Students on work placements take part in laboratory work, gaining an insider’s view of the various scientific professions and an enhanced understanding of the techniques used in biochemistry and molecular biology.
